Red Relay for Elderly Care

Lai Yuping, Grade 2021

During this winter vacation, Lai Yuping took an active part in the "Youth Blood · Red Relay" voluntary blood donation service activity organized by the Volunteer Association of Shicheng County, Ganzhou City. The activity focused on caring for special groups such as elderly people living alone and disabled or disadvantaged residents. Meanwhile, as a member of the Chenlong Public Welfare Development Center in Shicheng County, Ganzhou City, she compiled the annual summary of the center and participated in various other social practice activities held by the center.

These social practice experiences made Lai Yuping deeply realize that social practice is not only a kind of dedication, but also a process of personal growth. Through participating in social practice, she learned to care for others and make contributions, felt the hard work and greatness of practitioners in the field, and further strengthened her determination as a medical student to serve the society. Lai Yuping said she would continue to participate in social practice, contribute her share to the construction of her hometown with practical actions, interpret the responsibilities and missions of young people in the new era, release the passion of youth through persistent efforts, serve her hometown, and contribute the power of youth!

In-depth Grassroots Government Internship

Huang Yilin, Grade 2021

Shortly before the 2024 Spring Festival, Huang Yilin participated in the "Bringing Law to Rural Areas" activity for college students returning to their hometowns, organized by the Justice Bureau of Tianxin District, Changsha City, Hunan Province. As a volunteer, she went deep into community grid points such as residential quarters together with staff from the sub-district judicial office to put up law popularization posters. She also went to farmers' markets with large passenger flow to distribute publicity materials on identifying and resisting cults, preventing illegal fund-raising, road traffic safety, anti-drug work, fire safety and other topics.

In addition, she joined in visiting and consoling 5 economically disadvantaged community correction and resettlement assistance objects. She wrote Spring Festival couplets, pasted couplets and "Fu" character decorations, hung lanterns and sent blessings with them, sharing the strong festive atmosphere of the Spring Festival together. This grassroots social practice enhanced Huang Yilin's awareness of the rule of law and her ability to serve the public. She contributed her modest efforts to strengthening law popularization and education, and effectively raising the public's awareness of the rule of law. In the future, besides studying medical knowledge, Huang Yilin will participate in various social practice activities and make her mark in various volunteer positions!

Returning to High School to Give Lectures and Share Experiences

Fang Sitian, Grade 2023

In response to the university's call for students to return to their high schools for practice during the winter vacation, enrich college students' winter vacation life, give full play to the educational function of social practice, and attract high-quality senior high school students to apply for the university, Fang Sitian teamed up with 13 other Nanchang University students from the Affiliated High School of Jiangxi Normal University to participate in the "Image Ambassadors Return to Alma Mater" activity. Under the guidance of college teachers, Fang Sitian and her team successfully delivered two lectures at the Affiliated High School of Jiangxi Normal University on January 26 and February 1 respectively.

During the lectures, Fang Sitian helped tell the century-old glorious history of Nanchang University and demonstrated the bright prospects of the university as a national "Double First-Class" construction university and a university jointly built by the Ministry of Education and the provincial government. In the interactive session, Fang Sitian focused on introducing Huankui Academy and shared the daily study life of a medical student.

"Blossoms bloom in the same hometown, and each person makes their own way in the world." This lecture activity strengthened Fang Sitian's love and confidence in her alma mater. At the same time, it inspired her to forge ahead with determination and set sail on a new journey in the broad world of Huankui Academy.
