On May 7, Huankui College held the second session of its 2025 League Cadre Training Series to deepen student backbones’ sense of responsibility and foster their spiritual character. Teacher Yan Run, part-time Deputy Secretary of the University Committee of the Communist Youth League, delivered an inspiring sharing session themed "The Original Aspiration and Mission of Student Backbones".

Drawing lessons from history, Yan led students to review major historical events such as the Opium War and the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, profoundly explaining the mission shouldered by student backbones in the tide of the times. He emphasized that student backbones must keep in mind their original aspiration of serving classmates and bringing glory to the university, stand boldly at the forefront of the times, and proactively take on the responsibilities entrusted by the new era.

Taking the heroic deeds of "Naval and Air Force Guard" Wang Wei and the diary of "Border Defense Hero" Chen Xiangrong (who wrote "Pure love, only for China") as examples, Yan elaborated on student cadres’ sense of responsibility. He pointed out that student cadres should uphold the spirit of integrating knowledge with action and daring to be pioneers, fulfill their duty of serving classmates with a high sense of responsibility and mission, and demonstrate the value pursuit of contemporary young students through practical actions.

"Cherish lofty aspirations to break through clouds; stand at the forefront and forge ahead courageously." Combining his own growth experience, Yan encouraged the students: serving as student backbones is not only a tempering of personal abilities but also an important way to realize life value through serving classmates. He urged young students to always uphold their original aspiration, and with the vitality and striving spirit of youth, compose a splendid life chapter through service and dedication.
