"Medical Journey Navigation" Series Concludes Successfully This Semester

Recently, Huankui College successfully held the "Medical Journey Navigation – Huankui Lecture" series to cultivate students’ academic research capabilities, broaden their professional horizons, introduce them to renowned experts in various medical fields, and enhance their academic competitiveness. Three distinguished scholars were invited to share their growth experiences, research achievements, and insights, discussing the future development trends of the medical field with students.  

"AI Empowers Optical Bioimaging" – PhD Salon Series  

On May 8, Yan Weichao, Assistant Researcher and Master’s Supervisor at Nanchang University’s Institute of Space Science and Technology, combined AI with medicine to popularize deep learning technology and optical imaging. He explained how deep learning enhances the resolution and anti-scattering performance of optical imaging, exerting a profound impact on the development of medical imaging. He also shared his personal growth journey, emphasizing that "opportunities favor the prepared" and encouraging students to work hard and never give up to improve their competitiveness.  


"Aspire High, Anchor the Future" – Ideological and Political Guidance Series

On May 18, Dr. Deng Huan, Vice President and Chief Physician of the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, delivered a lecture themed "Aspire High, Anchor the Future". He interpreted the profound connotation of "the way of university" with unique insights, encouraging contemporary college students to uphold integrity and maintain positive energy. Quoting philosopher Kant’s view that "true freedom is not doing as one pleases, but mastering oneself – self-discipline is freedom", Dr. Deng advised students that only by pursuing moderate freedom and restrained desires can they achieve long-term, true freedom. He emphasized the importance of "rectifying one’s mind" (knowledge), "cultivating one’s moral character" (action), and prioritizing self-discipline to gain free thinking and independent spirit.  


"Uncovering the Mysteries of Colorectal Cancer" – PhD Salon Series  

On June 10, Fu Kai, Distinguished Researcher at Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, started with basic knowledge such as stem cells, oncogenes, tumor suppressor genes, and DNA damage repair, then introduced the latest research progress on colorectal cancer – including its causes, development process, and limitations of existing therapies. He further shared his team’s research on the relationship and specific mechanism between toxin UshA and colorectal cancer progression. From knowledge background to research paths, Dr. Fu patiently answered students’ questions, helping them gain a comprehensive understanding of related research in this field.
