(Reporters: Li Jing & Zhang Yiqing) To broaden intellectual horizons and gather innovative forces, on May 18, Teacher Li Shengjie from the Institute of Translational Medicine of our university delivered a special lecture titled Technological Innovation in Synthetic Biology and Its Applications in Biology to the students of Huankui Academy.

Starting with the definition of synthetic biology, Teacher Li Shengjie recounted the history and development of this discipline. He pointed out that synthetic biology is an intersection of biology, engineering, computer science and other disciplines, dedicated to designing and constructing biological systems with innovative functions. Through the presentation of practical cases and research findings, Teacher Li conducted an in-depth analysis of the extensive applications of synthetic biology in fields such as medicine, agriculture and energy, and expressed confidence in the future development prospects of this field.

During the interactive Q&A session, Teacher Li Shengjie patiently answered the students' questions regarding the innovative applications of synthetic biology. He encouraged the students to bravely pursue their dreams and expand their international horizons. Taking his own overseas study experience as an example, he inspired the students to strive for progress and embrace the spirit of exploration and innovation.
