News Network Report (By Student Reporter Jin Xinxin) As dawn broke and a new journey awaited, the Opening Ceremony for the Class of 2025 was held on the morning of September 1 at the Baifan Stadium of Nanchang University’s Qianhu Campus, where youthful vigor filled the air. More than 15,000 new undergraduate and graduate students gathered by the shores of Qianhu Lake. Guided by the university motto "Seek Truth for Innovation, Cultivate Virtue to Benefit All", they were ready to write their own chapters of pursuing dreams with youth as their brush and ideals as their ink.

Leaders of the university, including Secretary of the Party Committee Luo Sihai and President Academician Chen Yeguang, attended the ceremony. Also present were Academician Zhou Chuangbing, Director of the Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center of Basin Carbon Neutrality, and Academician Xie Mingyong, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Food Science and Resource Exploitation. Representatives of alumni, faculty, students and parents witnessed this memorable moment together.

As the sun rose, painting the sky with colorful glow, and the magnificent landscape unfolded, a new chapter began. Greeting the morning sun, the freshmen of the Class of 2025 entered the stadium one after another.

During the prelude, a themed opening video of 2025 took everyone through the precious moments of their first encounter with Nanchang University, recording the most genuine expectations and aspirations of the new generation of "Nanchang Universityers". Warm-up performances by student and counselor representatives expressed sincere welcome to the freshmen with energetic singing.

The Five-star Red Flag rose slowly, and all faculty and students sang the national anthem in unison, marking the official start of the ceremony. Afterwards, members of the honor guard escorted the university flag into the stadium with firm and powerful steps. Bathed in the morning sun, the flag of Nanchang University fluttered in the blue sky.

Zhan Weifan, a freshman majoring in Clinical Medicine of the First Clinical Medical College, delivered a speech on behalf of the new students. She shared the original aspiration and mission behind her choice of medical major, expressed her beautiful vision and firm belief for university life, and looked forward to upholding passion and faith at Nanchang University to embrace a bright future.

Shen Xiangyu, a representative of current students, member of the "Camphor Doctoral Voice" Publicity Group and a 2024 postgraduate student from the School of Marxism, shared his growth experience and insights at the university. He encouraged his juniors and sisters to always maintain a "half-full heart" and forge a unique, meaningful and surprising "path of fulfillment".

On behalf of the faculty, Professor Zhou Meng, Vice Dean of the School of Physics and Materials, encouraged the students to let curiosity be the torch for exploring the world, take capability building as the cornerstone of future development, and use bold attempts as the compass for positioning life, striving to grow into "Nanchang Universityers" who are warm-hearted, insightful and responsible.

Liao Liangsheng, an alumnus representative, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Institute of Functional Nano & Soft Materials at Soochow University, looked back on his study experience at Nanchang University with deep affection. Through his own thoughts and feelings, he encouraged the younger students to set lofty goals, stay focused and diligent, be strict with themselves, persevere, overcome obstacles, and reach the glorious shore of their ideals.

Luo Sihai presented the military flag to the troops responsible for the freshmen’s military training.

Chen Yeguang delivered a speech entitled "Dream Big, Dare to Challenge, Embrace the Future!", guiding the students to set lofty ideals, consolidate their capabilities, dare to challenge themselves, and fulfill their life aspirations. He encouraged the students to aim high and shoulder the mission of youth while caring for the country and its people. They should not only focus on personal development, but also consider the needs of the nation and society, positioning their life coordinates and setting lofty ideals in serving national development and human progress. He urged them to temper their skills, strive for excellence by daring to tackle difficulties, uphold independent thinking, distinguish right from wrong, maintain resolve, and use unwavering courage, outstanding wisdom and capabilities to overcome challenges and surpass themselves. He also called on them to forge ahead with perseverance, march toward a bright future by keeping their feet on the ground, learn to manage time, maintain focus and persistence, patience and perseverance, continuously strengthen their abilities through diligent study and practice, move forward steadily step by step, and strive to realize their life values. A university badge-wearing ceremony was also held at the event. On the rostrum, distinguished guests seated in the front row pinned university badges on the representatives of freshmen, while all other freshmen put on their badges neatly off the stage. Under the shining sun, the university badges engraved with "Nanchang University" sparkled on the chests of the new students. At this moment, the badges carrying the spirit of Nanchang University were closely linked with the youthful pulses of the new generation of "Nanchang Universityers".

The ceremony drew to a close with all faculty and students singing the Nanchang University anthem in unison.
