To create a positive and vibrant English learning environment and provide students with a stage to showcase their comprehensive English proficiency, Huankui Academy successfully held the gala performance of the 3rd English Culture Festival on the evening of December 7. Fourteen elaborately designed programs were staged in sequence, fully demonstrating the youthful vitality and elegant demeanor of Huankui students. The gala invited Wang Meiyan, Director of the Student Work Committee and the Department of Student Affairs; Qiu Xiaoyi, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the University Party Committee; Xiong Chengjun, Deputy Secretary of the University Youth League Committee; and Ke Huahong, Director of the Party and Government Office of the Medical School, to attend and watch on site. All teachers and students of Huankui Academy also actively participated in this cultural festival.

Flourishing English Rhythm, Eloquent Talks

Following the wonderful opening dance heliABCD, Xu Kailing, a Grade 2022 student, focused on the theme of "How to Escape the Clutches of Hair Loss". She analyzed the causes of hair loss from a professional perspective and shared practical solutions and hair care tips. Similarly, Ye Yuman, another Grade 2022 student, delivered an English science popularization speech, explaining the physiological mechanism of menstruation from a scientific standpoint. She called on everyone to break the silence and prejudice, and promote healthy and open dialogue on this topic. Luo Zhaowei from Grade 2022 and Wang Lisha from Grade 2021 respectively shared their personal experiences. Luo Zhaowei affectionately reviewed the original aspiration behind his choice of a medical career, expressing profound respect and deep love for life. For her part, Wang Lisha shared touching moments by narrating the warm stories between her and her supervisor, showing the profound friendship between teachers and students. In addition, Li Yu from Grade 2021 gave a wonderful academic presentation on gene therapy, opening up new horizons for scientific exploration. This series of English speeches with diverse themes and rich content not only fully demonstrated the profound insights and rich experiences of Huankui students, but also triggered reflections and resonance among the audience.

Displaying Grace through Language, Melodious Singing

The song performance segment kicked off with an English solo Dynamite by Xie Beibei from Grade 2022, who conveyed the power of hope and confidence through her singing. Yao Sicheng, Liao Huiwen and You Xutong from Grade 2024, together with Fan Jinze and Liao Langyue from Grade 2023, presented a medley of English songs. The ethereal and melodious Better Place expressed full longing for the future; the inspiring and uplifting Daylight encouraged unremitting pursuit of the beauty of life; and the soulful Take Me to Your Heart immersed the audience in a tender vortex of emotional integration.

Vivid Sounds and Images, Interpreting Classics

In the interesting dubbing session, with exquisite vocal expression and delicate emotional insight, students accurately captured the joys, anger, sorrows and joys of the characters, recreating classic clips from Kung Fu Panda, Angry Birds and Inside Out. Their performances brought every character to life vividly. In the skit performance, Zhu Linyi and other students from Grade 2024 profoundly interpreted "Tough Love" through vivid role-playing and wonderful live singing, creating a dramatic and interesting stage space that drew thunderous applause and kept the audience engrossed. The Nightingale and the Rose, presented by students from Grade 2023, was a reinterpretation of Oscar Wilde's immortal classic, showing the themes of "love, sacrifice and dreams" and evoking profound reflections on life and dreams among the audience.

At the end of the cultural festival, Qi Yichen and Xu Zisong, students from the graduating class, took the stage hand in hand and presented a soulful English chorus Shallow. The song contained expectations for the future and nostalgia for the past. As the singing faded, representatives of the graduating class delivered speeches one by one, expressing their gratitude to the academy and their care and expectations for their juniors and sisters with sincere and warm words.

Graceful bearing in English, and success achieved through language learning. On this dynamic stage, the English Culture Festival is not only a feast of language art, but also a testimony to the growth of every participant. Here, students have not only learned how to express themselves and communicate in English, but also how to perceive the world and convey emotions through English. In the future, Huankui students will continue to move forward with their love for English and shine on a broader stage.
