On April 22, Huankui College held the first session of its 2025 League Cadre Training Series to comprehensively enhance student cadres’ overall qualities and empower young backbones. Li Ken, former Standing Executive Chairman of the All-China Students’ Federation (2019-2020) and 9th Chairman of Jiangxi Provincial Students’ Federation, delivered a special sharing session themed "Bloom into Excellence: The Formula for Student Leadership Leap".

Combining his own experiences, Li shared insights from three aspects: "the reform and development of student unions", "the work philosophy of Nanchang University Student Union", and "practical methods for student cadres to improve leadership". He opened with three cases of student unions drawing public criticism due to inappropriate behaviors, emphasizing that student unions must adhere to the tenet of serving students wholeheartedly. He urged cadres to maintain a responsible work attitude, eliminate "officialdom thinking" with pragmatic actions, and temper their character through service.

The Nanchang University Student Union upholds the tenet of "serving students wholeheartedly", positioning itself as "a home for students, a school for backbones, and a bridge between teachers and students". Its work philosophy is "unity, pragmatism, innovation, and dedication", with the goal of building a top-tier national service-oriented, learning-oriented, and innovative student union.

When talking about leadership improvement, Li recommended the book Ten Core Competencies Based on the 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership and put forward practical suggestions on "team echelon building" and "growth mindset cultivation".

"The value of student cadres lies in the growth measured by dedication," Li said in a humorous tone. He shared his work experience and insights from serving in the university, provincial, and national students’ federations, and quoted the Nanchang University Student Union’s motto: "Never say tired, never give up". He encouraged students to actively demonstrate youth vitality, show their talents, and contribute their youth strength in study and life.
