On May 21, the closing ceremony of Huankui College’s 2nd Science and Technology Culture Festival was held in Lecture Hall 108 of No.1 Teaching Building on Qianhu Campus, marking a perfect end to the 50-day splendid event. With the theme "Technology Empowers Health Dreams, Innovation Illuminates Medical Paths", the festival kicked off on April 2 and focused on the integration and innovation of medical wisdom, science, and culture. It built three educational sections – scientific exploration, knowledge dissemination, and practical innovation – through a series of rich academic seminars, technological practices, and popular science activities, fully stimulating students’ scientific research enthusiasm and innovative potential. A total of 180 participants, including leaders from university functional departments and the School of Medicine, as well as teachers and students of the college, attended the closing ceremony.

Shining Role Models: Guiding Growth with Exemplary Power

In the "Stars Gather at Huankui" showcase, outstanding students such as Fang Sitian, Zhan Jianhao, Hua Jiaxin, Ding Zhanyuan, and Zhu Linyi took the stage to share their touching stories of pursuing medical dreams and were awarded the annual "Huankui Stars". Fang Sitian interpreted the power of perseverance with "The road is long, but progress is inevitable"; Zhan Jianhao outlined the original aspiration of scientific research with "Cherish ideals and chase the light". Hua Jiaxin, Ding Zhanyuan, and Zhu Linyi also demonstrated the diverse development paths of contemporary medical students from perspectives such as clinical practice, interdisciplinary integration, and personal efforts. Their personal experiences inspired more students to continuously explore and pursue excellence in the medical field.

Innovation Empowers: Scientific Research Projects Demonstrate Strength

In the college student innovation training program achievement exhibition, Wang Keren’s team focused on the therapeutic mechanism of lung adenocarcinoma and revealed the key role of GPI protein ubiquitination modification; Lai Yuping’s team provided new ideas for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases through research on inhibiting atherosclerotic calcification. The reports of these two excellent projects fully reflected the originality and practical ability of Huankui students in scientific research, as well as their spirit of courage to explore and innovate.

Academic Contention: In-depth Literature Reading Inspires Thinking

Deng Wenze, an outstanding representative of the literature intensive reading competition, presented cutting-edge neuroscience research results with the theme "Dual and Plasticity-Dependent Regulation of Anxiety-Like Behaviors by the Cerebellum-Zona Incerta Circuit". He detailed his thinking and gains from intensive reading, providing valuable learning experiences and methods for students and inspiring their innovative thinking.

Glorious Moment: Fruitful Achievements in Multidimensional Competitions

Outstanding teams and individuals in various activities were commended. Each award is an affirmation of the winners’ efforts and an earnest expectation for their future development, encouraging them to continue forging ahead and scaling new heights in the medical field.

The successful holding of the 2nd Science and Technology Culture Festival not only provided a platform for Huankui students to showcase themselves, communicate, and learn but also fully highlighted the core concept of "technology empowering medicine". Various activities demonstrated students’ demeanor from multiple dimensions and emphasized the charm of integrating technology with medicine. In the future, it is hoped that students will carry what they have learned to explore and innovate in the medical field, contributing to the cause of human health. The college will also continue to practice the educational philosophy of "Virtuous and Skilled, Upholding Integrity and Innovating", cultivating more top-notch innovative medical talents.
