On February 26, Huankui College and the School of Foreign Languages co-hosted a "Collaborative Talent Development Exchange Seminar" to deepen medical talent cultivation and promote interdisciplinary integration. Key leaders from both institutions attended the meeting, discussing medical talent training, curriculum development, and practical activities, and reaching a preliminary consensus on building a "Medical + Foreign Language" joint training system.

As a pilot for nurturing top-notch innovative medical talents, Huankui College is committed to fostering outstanding medical professionals with comprehensive qualities and job competence. College Dean Zheng Liping introduced the college’s educational philosophy, talent training paths, curriculum design, and achievements. Zhou Tian, Director of the Academic Affairs Office, and Yin Chengyu, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office, respectively proposed initial ideas for in-depth cooperation and collaborative talent development.

Boasting rich English teaching resources and experience, the School of Foreign Languages excels in enhancing students’ language application abilities and broadening their international perspectives. Director Deng Huixing shared the school’s curriculum setup, teaching concepts, and student practice outcomes, expressing willingness to actively participate in medical talent cultivation. Dean Chen Yeyu of the School of Foreign Languages emphasized: "Medical literature reading and international academic communication are essential skills for medical students. Through joint curriculum development, we will lay a solid linguistic foundation for medical talents to ‘go global’."

Both parties agreed that English, as a core skill for medical professionals, should be deeply integrated with medical expertise to comprehensively improve students’ overall quality and competitiveness. Plans include co-developing medical English-related courses such as Emergency English and Medical Literature Reading, as well as co-organizing activities like English Culture Festivals and Medical Knowledge Competitions to provide more language practice opportunities for students.

This seminar laid the foundation for future cooperation. Both institutions stated they would strengthen communication, formulate specific cooperation plans, and implement collaborative projects promptly. As summarized at the meeting: "The integration of medicine and foreign languages is not merely a curriculum overlay, but a reconstruction of thinking and capabilities. Taking this cooperation as a starting point, we will cultivate more international talents capable of telling Chinese medical stories well."
