On the morning of September 27, the inauguration ceremony for the 2025 Clinical Excellence and Innovation Experimental Class of Huankui Academy was solemnly held in Room 315 of the Science and Innovation Building. Leaders of Jiangxi Medical College, distinguished guests, responsible professors, teacher and student representatives of the academy, along with 50 new students, gathered together to witness this important moment. The ceremony was presided over by Zou Lixuan, Secretary of the Party Branch of the academy.

All teachers and students stood in solemn silence and sang the national anthem in unison, marking the commencement of the inauguration ceremony in a solemn and sacred atmosphere. This moment was not only a supreme tribute to the country but also a firm commitment to the future of the medical profession.

In her address, Zheng Liping, Dean of Huankui Academy, affectionately reviewed the arduous journey of running the school by Mr. He Huankui, the founder of the academy. She elaborated on the academy’s three core tenets: "upholding the original aspiration through inheritance, forging ahead with determination through reform, and fulfilling the mission through practice", and introduced the academy’s distinctive training model and talent development system.

"You are not only listeners to Huankui’s story, but also new writers of it." Dean Zheng put forward four earnest expectations to the new students: first, to be friendly and supportive, cherish the friendship with classmates, and build a warm harbor together in the collective; second, to inherit the legacy, take outstanding seniors as role models, and stay true to the medical original aspiration; third, to take the initiative to embrace change, dare to question and innovate, and complete the transformation from high school students to medical professionals; fourth, to embrace the motherland with lofty aspirations, integrate personal ideals into national needs, and write academic papers on the land of the motherland.

Xu Xuan, an outstanding alumni representative and 2020 graduate, shared her growth insights at the ceremony. Currently pursuing a direct PhD in Oncology at Renji Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University, she centered her speech on "reading ten thousand books, traveling ten thousand miles, and becoming a well-rounded person". Drawing on her own study and practical experience at the academy, she encouraged new students to lay a solid foundation of professional knowledge on the medical path, broaden their horizons, temper their abilities in a down-to-earth manner, and grow into medical practitioners with professional depth and humanistic warmth.

Wang Yuxi, a student selected for supplementary enrollment from the 2024 cohort, and Li Zipeng, a representative of the 2025 new students, delivered speeches respectively. Wang Yuxi shared his story with Huankui Academy and his expectations for future growth. He stated that to better adapt to the pace of the academy, he had prepared himself by strengthening physical and mental health, consolidating academic foundations, and fostering professional sentiments, and would continue to strive to meet the academy’s five-in-one training requirements in the future.

Li Zipeng recounted his story of forging a bond with medicine, expressing his profound respect and strong sense of mission for the medical profession. He pledged to study professional knowledge diligently, participate actively in various activities, comprehensively improve his comprehensive quality, and contribute his youthful strength to the cause of human health.

During the solemn initiation ceremony, distinguished guests pinned school badges on the new student representatives and adjusted their attire. The gleaming school badges symbolized the identity transformation from high school students to medical students, and further carried the medical oath of "health is bound up, life is entrusted".

At the appointment ceremony for responsible professors, He Haixiang, Secretary of Jiangxi Medical College, issued appointment letters to Professor Li Ping and Professor Huang Chunhong. These letters not only recognized the professors’ academic attainments but also built a bridge of growth for the new students, helping them embark on a new journey of medical exploration.

At the end of the ceremony, Secretary He Haixiang delivered a concluding speech. He highly affirmed the significance of the inauguration ceremony and pointed out that "high moral integrity, exquisite medical skills, integrity and innovation" should serve as the cornerstone of each student’s professional career. He encouraged the new students to cherish the comprehensive talent training system built by the college.

Centering on the medical mission, he put forward three expectations: to cultivate oneself with benevolence, always maintain reverence for life, duty and knowledge, and make benevolence and care the most powerful "therapeutic tool"; to navigate with ambition, temper willpower on the long medical journey and always uphold the original aspiration of practicing medicine; to fulfill promises with actions, abide by integrity as the fundamental principle, and take integrity as the lifeline of the medical profession and the foundation of personal conduct. Secretary He’s speech, which inherited medical traditions and placed hopes on the new generation, pointed out the value pursuit and growth direction for the 2025 new students.
